Who is LAPFF?

The mission of the Los Angeles Pasifika Film Festival (LAPFF) is to highlight the abundant and varied narratives and skills by Pasifika filmmakers, Pacific Islanders specifically with roots from Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. 2023, marks the launch of the first film festival dedicated to showcasing exceptional filmmaking while creating an intergenerational space that builds synergy among  artists, filmmakers, scholars-educators, and community serving organizations.

Based in Los Angeles as the premiere film festival for ‘everything Pasifika’, LAPFF is dedicated to increasing representation through workshops and industry panels that  fosters collaboration, networking and connections for the growth and evolution of Pasifika storytelling in the digital age.

By sharing the "Mana" or spirit of Pacific Islanders with the entertainment capital of the world, our goal is to support filmmakers to navigate through the industry by increasing visibility and representation. LAPFF aims to spark meaningful conversations, deepen cultural understanding, and inspire future generations of Pasifika filmmakers to share their unique voices and perspectives with the world.
